Anyone who’s ever thrown off the shackles of ordinary life to tackle their dream of hiking the entire Pacific Crest Trail comes back transformed – physically and mentally. 2,663 miles of trailside experiences can be tough to sum up in three minutes, but Kolby “Condor” Kirk gets close with this rapid-fire montage of 159 self-portraits (one for each day on the trail):
Kirk, who lost 90 pounds on his adventure, captured plenty of snowcapped peaks, dusty deserts, and lonely passes along the way. Plus, he’s primed to return to society in style, thanks to that luxuriant hipster-approved beard he grew.
