Search efforts resumed Tuesday for an Appalachian Trail thru-hiker missing since July of last year.
Geraldine “Gerry” Largay, 66, was last seen near the Oberton Stream area of Maine. The Bangor Daily News reports that the most recent searches have not yielded any new information so far. State wardens plan to search new areas as well as return to areas with difficult terrain to give them a second look.
Largay, also known by her trail name “Inchworm,” is from Brentwood, Tennessee. She was in the final stages of a northbound solo thru-hike when she disappeared.
