SCAPRA has voluntarily recalled its F1 EVO ski boot due to newly discovered hazards within its Tronic system. The boot may unexpectedly switch from ski mode to walk mode while skiing without allowing the boot to release from the binding, causing a potential injury risk.
About 2,100 pairs of these boots were sold in the U.S., with about 250 in Canada. The recall includes both men’s and women’s boots. The company reports that they have received reports of torn knee ligaments following falls in these boots.
SCARPA advises owners of these boots to cease use immediately and return the boots to them directly. To schedule a return and arrange for a full refund, visit SCARPA’s website and clink on the tab “F1 EVO RECALL.”
