More than a year after it stripped them from its shelves, REI will restock CamelBak, Camp Chef, and a handful of other brands after its parent company, Vista Outdoor, sold off gun manufacturers Savage Arms and Stevens Firearms.
In a statement, REI said that it would also resume orders for Giro, Bell, and Blackburn products.
“REI does not sell guns or ammunition, and does not oppose hunting or the Second Amendment, but we believe companies that profit directly from the sale of guns have a civic responsibility to engage in the national discussion about gun safety, as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Walmart and others have done,” the company said.
While Vista no longer owns any gun manufacturers, its portfolio still includes Federal Ammunition and CCI Ammunition.Â
