Pacific Northwest Fighting Severe Wildfires

Washington is fighting 50 separate blazes.

A massive wildfire spanning more than 300 square miles continued to spread in eastern Washington over the weekend, prompting evacuations across Okanogan County. It’s just one of 50 fires currently beseeching the state.

The forecast calls for cool and wet weather in the upcoming days, which is expected to help quell the fire’s spread. Oregon is facing its share of fires as well, with 15 blazes currently taxing the state’s disaster response resources. The National Guard has been mobilized to assist.
