Wilderness first dates aren’t just for elite endurance athletes anymore: Owen Wilson, the formerly-easygoing star of genial Hollywood comedies like Wedding Crashers, You, Me, and Dupree, and Marley & Me just announced that he uses a spirited wilderness hike as a prelude to romance.
“I was always intrigued when people said they went hiking so I tried it out and I really enjoyed it. It’s a great thing to take a girl to do. I love to get out there and see nature. It’s great to get out there, talk and learn about each other.”
That whipping sound you just heard is the nation’s single ladies lacing up their just-purchased Kaylands in hopes of joining the Butterscotch Stallion on a trek up a sunny California canyon somewhere. Though if I had to take bets, I’d say Wilson’s a Yosemite man: The park’s lazy meadows, golden sunsets, and endearingly crookedNose seem like a perfect match.
