Moose Attacks Two in Colorado

Two Colorado women were hospitalized with injuries after a moose charged the pair early Sunday morning.
CBS Denver reports that Ellen Divis, 50, and Jacqueline Boron, 57, were out walking their dogs on Sunday morning when the cow-moose confronted them. Both women sustained cuts and broken bones and were in fair condition in a Denver-area hospital as of Monday night.
Colorado Fish Wildlife and Parks officials speculated that the women’s dogs may have reminded the moose of wolves, prompting a defensive attack. For backpackers, the incident is yet another reminder that no matter how docile moose may seem, they can turn aggressive quickly.
