Let's All Ignore Our Work and Watch These Polar Bears Instead

Fat Bear Week may be over, but there are plenty more fat bears to catch on Explore.org's livestream.

While their southern cousins are getting ready to turn in for the winter, Churchill, Manitoba’s polars bears are just getting started. As the seas of Hudson Bay freeze over in winter, bears venture out to hunt seals and rebuild fat reserves exhausted during the lean months of late summer and fall.

You can get a front-row seat to the socializing and sparring matches as Explore.org kicks off its annual live stream with partners Polar Bears International and Frontiers North Adventures. The stream is broadcast from a series of cameras mounted on tundra buggies, which roam around Wapusk National Park and the area around it in search of the big carnivores. If you’re in need of a chaser to Fat Bear Week’s grizzly matchups, tune in.

Don’t see any bears on the stream? Try one of Explore’s other bear cams instead.

Polar Bears International is hosting its annual Polar Bear Week on November 1-7.
