Trail time soothes all of life’s ills. Even, it turns out, losing a presidential election.
Margot Gerster was on a hike near her White Plains, NY, home with her dog and 13-month-old daughter when she ran into Hillary Clinton, just a day after the former presidential nominee conceded the election to Donald Trump. Gerster said she flashed a “huge, awkward grinning smile” at Clinton, and told Clinton how proud she was to have voted for her.
Clinton’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, snapped a photo of the pair together.
“She seemed as well as anybody could be expected after such a crazy, crazy experience,” Gerster told CNN. “She couldn’t have seemed any nicer or, you know, kinder and gracious to me.”
