BACKPACKER map contributor Scott Sanders of Atlanta, GA shared this hike starting from the Blue Ridge Parkway to the wooded summit of Plott Balsam (6,088 ft.). He says the route can be overgrown and has many tricky junctions so download the waypoints and tracklog to your GPS unit or GPS-enabled phone for extra navigation assistance. Pack a compass too.
