Hike of the Day: Grandview Peak near Salt Lake City
This 8.6-mile out-and-back with an off-trail bonus traverses grassy ridgelines to a rocky summit overlooking the Wasatch Front.

This 8.6-mile hike climbs to a seldom-explored 9,410-foot summit in the Wasatch Range. Climb the Great Western Trail then at mile 3.1 go offtrail and follow a prominent ridgeline to Grandview Peak. On top, views stretch south to nearby peaks like Mt. Timpanogos, Lone Peak, and Little Matterhorn.
