Happy Friday: Print & Go Trip Planners

Our new, free Print & Go planners make your weekend adventure easy

Heading out the door? Read this article on the new Outside+ app available now on iOS devices for members! Download the app.

Friday’s here, it’s summertime, and the weather’s great (well, at least here it is). That means it’s time to get your weekend adventure plans in full gear. But where Friday afternoons are usually a scramble for gear, food, and trip beta, you can rest easy this time. BACKPACKER’s brand new Print & Go weekend planners have you covered, no matter where you live—and it’s all free.

These Print & Go PDFs give you turn-by-turn trail instructions and photos embedded on a usable topo map. We’ve also got full-on gear checklists, driving directions, and geo-references for finding the nearest campground, restaurant, gas station, and grocery store. Oh—don’t forget to download tracks for your GPS for each trip.

This month, we’ve got a couple doozies, no matter where you live in the US:

WEST

Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument: Ape Canyon

Traverse the eastern flanks of the most active volcano in the Cascades on this 11.3-mile trek in Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

MOUNTAIN WEST

Yellowstone National Park: Heart Lake and Mt. Sheridan

Spend a few nights in Yellowstone National Park on this 23.1-mile out-and-back complete with lakeside campsites and spectacular summit views.

MIDWEST

Austin, TX: Enchanted Rock Loop

Circumnavigate a 425-foot monolith on this 4.9-miler that crosses a sandy creek and cruises classic Texas Hill Country west of Austin.

EAST

Great Smoky Mountain NP: Charlies Bunion

Get away for a night or three on this 12.8-mile lasso loop that delivers you to the high reaches of the Great Smoky Mountains.

Now you have everything you need (except perhaps gas). So get out there and hike!
