We know you want BACKPACKER hikes on your iPhone—and thanks to our partner Trimble Outdoors, you can use them with their new AllSport GPS app. To get iPhone folks up and running, Trimble is offering 500 units of AllSport for free.
OK, there is a catch: Because of some quirk in Apple’s arcane policies, Trimble isn’t actually allowed to give the app away as a promo. So here’s how it works: You buy Allsport GPS in the iTunes App Store for $9.99, then you email Trimble Outdoors the receipt and they’ll email you a $10 iTunes gift card to buy whatever you want.
So it’s more like getting a free album, or movie, or whatever, with your GPS purchase. Still not a bad deal, since AllSport will let you listen to that album while you map a new trail, ride, hike, etc.
