Project Vertical: Win a Spot on Bight Gear's Test Team and Climb Mt. Rainier
Do you have what it takes to make sure gear is mountain-ready? Show us and you could end up climbing Mt. Rainier—and leaving your mark on the next generation of outerwear to hit the market.

Behind every piece of gear, there’s a dedicated corps of testers who braved foul weather and spent weeks outside to make sure you could depend on your equipment. Now, it’s your turn to join their ranks.

We’ve partnered with Bight Gear to create a special opportunity for BACKPACKER readers. Enter this contest to help Bight Gear reach its goal of 100 million vertical feet of testing. Winners will:
• Use Bight Gear prototypes in the field.
• Help shape the next generation of products with direct input.
• Climb with RMI guides on a 4-day Mt. Rainier summit.

In addition, Bight Gear has teamed up with Garmin for this project, and testers will use fēnix® 5 Plus series watches and the inReach® Mini to track their progress.
To enter, you’ll need to tell us a little about yourself. Create a video (2 minutes max) that explains why you deserve to be part of the team. Show us you know something about gear, have been above treeline more than once, and would make a great trip companion.
Entries due by September 30, 2018; the climb will take place in the summer of 2019.
