If you weren’t on Pikes Peak this past Saturday, you missed your chance to win the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game every time someone brings it up. The prolific character actor joined hundreds of cancer survivors and sympathizers for a climb up Pikes Peak, culminating in a concert at the summit by The Bacon Brothers (his brother Michael helps shore up his musical chops).

The climb raised thousands of dollars for the Love Hope Strength Foundation, which provides funding to worldwide cancer treatment and research. According to mountain officials, this is the first time a musical event has been held atop 14,110-ft. Pikes Peak, often dubbed America’s “most visited mountain.”

No celebrity slouch, Bacon actually climbed the peak with the rest of the normal humans (you know most Hollywoodians would’ve taken a helicopter, or at least a Segway, to the top).

OK, maybe the skinny jeans were a rookie mistake, but he bagged the peak, and busted out some country-folk tunes at the top to boot. Well done, Bacon.
