Backpacking Toddler Puts Rest of Us to Shame

This 2-year-old has hiked more than 300 miles.

“Start ’em early,” so the saying goes, and Shannon and Blake Bennett have taken that mantra to heart: The backpacking couple from Mammoth Lakes, California began taking their firstborn, Bodhi, hiking at just five days old.

As the Daily Mail reports, Bodhi has already visited over half of of America’s 59 national parks and adventured in 40 different states. Before age two, the uber-toddler had already attempted a 5.8-rated crack climb in California’s Rock Creek Canyon and hiked over 300 miles of trail with his parents.

Bodhi’s proud mom has accumulated thousands of Instagram followers by documenting her son’s non-traditional upbringing. Shannon Bennett, who is nine months pregnant with her second child, told the paper that she has never felt stronger: “Women should know anything is possible with the right mindset.”
