When BACKPACKER editors jetted to the Swiss Alps this past November for a massive gear testing blowout, I didn’t get angry or jealous (they left several cases of Miller High Life under my desk, which helped). Someone had to man the home fires, they said, and someone needed to drink all this beer. I was happy to step up to the plate.

I’m starting to reassess my position: These time-lapse videos by Michael Rissi were shot in many of the same places BP editors trekked, like the Grindelwald Glacier and the Triftgletscher. Set to Beethoven’s 7th symphony, they pay dreamy and ethereal tribute to one of the world’s most beautiful mountain regions:
