Twenty months after going missing on a camping trip near Lake Tahoe, a 5-year-old golden retriever has been reunited with her family.
The Los Angeles Timesreports that Nathan and Erin Braun got separated from Murphy during an outing in October 2012. Despite posting flyers and mounting a Facebook campaign, they had no luck locating her.
Then, earlier this month, a camper at the French Meadows Reservoir spotted a loose dog matching the general description on the flyer. The camper alerted the Brauns, who drove to the park and laid out Murphy’s bed and some of their own clothing. After a week, Murphy emerged from the woods.
Murphy is reportedly thin and frail, but recovering at home after the reunion.
