127 Hours, Danny Boyle’s take on Aron Ralston’s harrowing misadventure in Utah’s Blue John Canyon, debuted nationwide to rave reviews last week. Ralston trapped himself in one of the most remote areas in the Lower 48—a place largely untouched by man. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t rich in history.
