Question:

What are the pros and cons of using UV light pens for water treatment? How effective are they against parasites, bacteria, and viruses?

Answer:

UV light devices kill all pathogens, including viruses, when used as directed. That’s a big pro. It’s also quick (usually, purification takes just a few minutes). On the down side, they are expensive, heavy compared to tablets, and they require batteries.
