To get the best answer for your question, I went to two BACKPACKER staffers who can relate: Jon Dorn and Ben Fullerton, both 6’6”. Here are a few of their three-season picks.

Answer:

Hey Chris,

To get the best answer for your question, I went to two BACKPACKER staffers who can relate: Jon Dorn and Ben Fullerton, both 6’6”. Here are a few of their three-season picks. All are lightweight, packable, roomy, and come in long sizes. Note: bigger bags require more materials and are therefore bulkier to pack than smaller bags (obvious, right?) For that reason, our resident big guys always opt for down bags over synthetics, because they’re so much more packable and compressible. Here are two great options: one is hoodless and one has a hood.
