Mishmi Takin Kameng

If you must wear a waterproof boot in summer conditions, odds are your feet are gonna sweat. Fight swamp foot with the Kameng, which has an eVent membrane that dumps moisture directly through microscopic pores. After a month of hikes, our tester deemed it the most breathable boot she’s worn. “On a humid, 80°F day spent trudging 12 miles through wet grass, my feet barely got sweaty,” she said after a hike on Canada’s Prince Edward Island. The ride isn’t bad, either: A full-length shank kept her steps solid under a multiday load on New Brunswick’s roller-coaster Fundy Footpath. The Vibram outsole’s Y-shaped lugs held fast in mud, and even gripped a thin layer of late-season ice. Bummer: This unisex boot may be too high-volume for some women.
