Keep Your Feet Dry

On a consistently wet, rainy 3-day trip, I experienced softened skin that cracked. I never was able to get dry shoes or socks. Each day my feet would be soaked within minutes. What can I do in the future to help stop this?

Answer:

Try a pair of vapor barrier socks between your regular socks and your boots. You’ll trap all your foot sweat inside the vapor barriers, but your regular socks should keep your feet feeling relatively dry, and you can dry your feet and socks at night. The barrier socks will keep all outside moisture outside.
