Question:

Does the human body absorb cold water or body-temperature water faster?

Submitted by – -Andrew, Fort St. John, BC

Answer:

The exact temp for maximum absorption rate remains somewhat in doubt, but for most people, it seems to fall somewhere between 45 and 55 degrees F. Water in this range empties from the stomach more quickly and moves on to the small intestine, where absorption becomes much faster.
