Gear Review: GSI Outdoors Collapsible Fairshare Mug

Mug is a bit of a misnomer, but who cares? This utilitarian tumbler shines in a big-group camp kitchen.

Our Iceland crew used it as a mixing bowl for dried eggs, a rehydrating container for freeze-dried veggies (the screw-on lid came in handy for this), and a dipper for pulling hot water out of the big group pot.

Testers appreciated the measurement indicators (up to 20 ounces) and the long, foldable handle, which kept fingers safely away from boiling water. The silicone material collapses into a 5-inch diameter disk for easy packing, but it’s a tad weighty at 7 ounces.
