Adidas Swift Parley Jacket

Brand: Adidas

Model: Swift Parley Jacket

Happy coincidence: This eco-friendly, two-layer shell is also the most affordable model in the test. It’s made from polyester that’s recycled from ocean plastic trash, through a partnership with the environmental group Parley for the Oceans. Comfort bonus: The poly also gives the Swift a flexy, softshell-like feel that’s great for all-day wear.

THE DETAILS

Sleeves are long enough to cover the wrists while skinning; an adjustable hem sealed out snow on deep powder days; and a slightly baggy cut let us layer up, but it’s not so big that excess material gets in the way. The hood fits neatly over a bare head or beanie, but it’s too tight to fit over a ski helmet. Tradeoff: The hood is nonadjustable.

TRAIL CRED

“While pulling a kid carrier loaded with a toddler, food, beer, and gear 3 miles into Colorado’s Shrine Mountain Inn with temps in the 30s, I got a bit clammy but not too swampy, despite the lack of pit zips,” reports one heroic parent.

Weight: 14.9 oz.

Sizes: Men’s S-XXL, Women’s XS-XL
