As visitation has surged in Yosemite Valley in recent years, the park has struggled to manage bumper-to-bumper traffic, crowded trails, and lack of parking. Recently, Yosemite has introduced parking space reservations and required permits for certain attractions; proposals for the future include a plan to cap Valley visitors at 20,100 per day. This summer, the park will conduct a visitor use study to help pinpoint problem areas.
