For the past century, Webber Lake, some 25 miles north of Truckee on the old Henness Pass Road, has been off-limits to the public—and its waters were stocked with trophy trout for guests of the private resort on its shores. Thanks to the Truckee Donner Land Trust, the paradise of Webber is now accessible for anyone who wants to pitch a tent, wet a line, kayak, or hike through gorgeous meadows along Lacey Creek.
