Hike of the Week: Mill Creek Trail, Jedediah Smith State Park, CA
Walk among giants on this quiet hike past the Grove of Titans and other 300-foot-tall redwood trees.
Redwood National Park is often overlooked when it comes to California parks; it doesn't have the name brand of Yosemite, nor the notability of Death Valley. But while we might look down on this misty seaside park, we can't help but stare up at its trees. Home to much of the world's surviving coastal redwoods, Redwood National Park is truly unlike anything else. Camping in will give you a sense of these massive trees' size, and hiking in Redwood National Park will make you feel like an ant among giants. Of the 200 miles of trails in Redwood National Park, our favorite is the Emerald Mile. It is among the finest mile in the entire parks system.
