The Tahoe Rim Trail is booming in more ways than one: What started out as a pipe dream in 1977 has turned into a giant hub of community, volunteerism, popularity, and natural beauty. Thanks to the work of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association, the 165-mile loop of Lake Tahoe—which includes 50 miles of the PCT—is a marvel of trail maintenance and teamwork.
