South Mountain Park’s most popular trailhead, Pima Canyon, will reopen on January 20 after being closed for improvements since last August. The new and improved site now has flush toilets and a better parking lot. The makeover generated controversy among nearby residents, but park officials compromised by scrapping plans for another parking lot and creating breaks in fencing for wildlife.
