When: Saturday, October 28, 9 am
Where: Cumming, GA
If you would like to do a decent size hike close to town, and have the second part of the day for yourself, the Sawnee Mountain hike could be what you are looking for...
Located north of Atlanta in Cumming, Georgia, Sawnee Mountain Preserve provides visitors with 963 acres of scenic passive space, that includes 11 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas and an interactive Visitor Center. We will meet at the Spot road location in front of the Visitor center and hike all trails that this beautiful preserve offers with a brisk pace. The elevation gain is approximately 1600 ft.
Please arrive a few minutes before the start time to check in.
We will do the Indian Seats loop first, and the new loop second.
We will stop for a lunch break around the Church trail. If you skip the Church trail, I won't be able to give you credit for D4; however, I encourage you to join us and test your abilities anyway.
For the safety of the group if I have not hiked with you, I might contact you to make sure that this hike is appropriate for you.
