FRIDAY, JUNE 15

1. No Man's Land Film Festival
When: 7 pm
Where: The Cliffs of LIC, Long Island, NY
Cost: $10-$15 (tickets required)
Details: No Man's Land is the only adventure film festival to exclusively feature women-identified athletes. Join us at The Cliffs of LIC for an evening of films, raffles, a panel discussion, and more! Films included are Sjo Tarn, Quincy, Meet the Moxie, The Honey Moon is Over, Finding Wide, Within Reach, Stumped, Fast Forward, My Desolate Eden, Why Not Now, and Where the Wild Things Play.

Pre-film panelists include Mina Okpi of Black People Who Love Outdoors and Adventure, climber Whitney Boland, Brown Girls Climb leader Laura Edmondson, Discover Outdoors senior guide Lauren Skonieczny, and activist and musician Alexis Krauss.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and showtime begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for Cliffs and Peak members; $15 for non-members.

SATURDAY, JUNE 16

2. Day Hike with Paragon Sports, Salomon, Suunto, & the AMC
When: 7 am-4 pm
Where: Harriman State Park, NY
Cost: Free (RSVP required)
Details: The AMC will be leading an instructional demo hike sponsored by Paragon Sports where experts from Suunto and Salomon will join us for a hands-on field demonstration of wearable GPS technology, and footwear on the trails! We're going to navigate a beginner friendly route within Harriman State Park using Suunto's GPS technology along with Salomon for you to try on and test out some of their industry-leading footwear. This is one of the greatest beginner hikes in the park. It is 5-mile loop with a large number of features for such a short distance.

3. Seven Ways to Soak in the Sun on a Saturday Afternoon

Cost: $25 members/$30 non-members (registration required)
Details: Enjoy a Great Day Out at the Corman AMC Harriman Outdoor Center! Perfect for Singles & Families. Day Use Fee is only $25 Members / $30 Non-members Saturday will be the first unambiguously beautiful day of the season! Come Relax and ... 1. Swim in the Lake 2. Sunbathe on the Dock 3. Sit in the Sun 4. Soak in the Kiddie Pool 5. Style Sand Castles in the Beach 6. Slip across the Lake in a Canoe or Kayak 7. Salivate over a Gourmet Dinner on the Terrace (purchase separately) ... and Stroll amid the profusion of mountain laurels blooming all around you! There are no planned activities, except to sign in with the leader. Otherwise, just enjoy the day doing your own thing with friends and family! Come as early as you want and stay as long as you want. If you can't bear to leave, then stay for Dinner (purchase separately in the Camp Office) and afterwards join the other Chapter programs for s'mores around the fire.

4. Father's Day Walker Pond and Paw Trail Cleanup

Where: High Rock Park, Staten Island, NY
Cost: Free (registration required)
Details: Spend some quality family time and get the Walker Pond and the surrounding trails in tip top shape for the summer season. Community Service credit available. 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 20

5. Class: Family Camping Basics

7-8:30 pm
Where: REI Soho, New York, NY
Cost: Free (registration required)
Details: Have you wanted to try camping with your family but don't know how to get started? Join REI to learn what you need to take your first (or second or third) camping trip. We will cover the basics including: how to be warm, dry and comfortable camping, gear and equipment necessities, ideas for fun activities; and great local areas to give it a try. Camping is a fun and affordable way to take a vacation - let REI help you get outdoors! No experience necessary!
