A thunder-like boom sounded and a light flashed across the metro Detroit sky last Tuesday night, alarming and dazzling observers. Meteorologists said the phenomenon was most likely not weather-related, but a meteor streaking across the atmosphere. Many observers caught the unusual event on video and shared it widely on social media.
