The Manitou Incline, a mile-long trail that ascends 2,000 feet, is a popular rite of passage outside of Manitou Springs. Maybe a bit too popular: Last week, the local fire department issued a warning asking hikers who lack the requisite fitness and experience to stay off the trail in the wake of a spate of rescues.
