Where: Lair O' the Bear Park, Idledale, CO
Details: Roast s’mores alongside scenic Bear Creek and join Jefferson County Open Space rangers and educators for engaging discussions on such topics as nature, history, and recreating safely outdoors.
You will meet the educator at the park kiosk. From there it is an easy 1/2 mile walk along a gravel trail to the Education Shelter. From the parking lot, head east past the bathrooms.
This is a nighttime outdoor program. We recommend warm layers, bug spray, sturdy footwear, and a flashlight to light your way back to the parking lot.
No pets please.
We will provide s'more fixings. Please feel free to bring your own snack if you and your family have specific dietary needs.
Let's play and learn outside! Our programs go rain, snow, or shine! So, dress accordingly. We will cancel the program if the weather is hazardous or unsafe. If a program is canceled we will send an e-mail and/or call each registered participant. You can also check the event listing. We usually make the call to cancel within 24 hours of the program.
Registration for this program is available one month before the date of the program. If you are registering during this time, but space is no longer available, please call Lookout Mountain Nature Center at 720-497-7600 to be placed on a waiting list.
