When we heard about the Grand-2-Grand Ultra, we had to enter. It’s a self-supported foot race (aka backpacking race) starting at the north rim of the Grand Canyon and ending at the highest point in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. It’s held in six stages over seven days in late September, and we are stoked (if not a touch frightened) to have our race papers filed. Stay tuned for training and gear tips as editors Dennis Lewon, Shannon Davis, and Andrew Bydlon begin conditioning their feet and assembling their packs.
