Two Weeks, Five Rescues on Mt. Pilchuck

Lingering snow continues to get unprepared hikers into trouble on the Cascade peak.

Mt. Pilchuck has been one of Washington's most action-packed peaks this year--at least from a Search & Rescue perspective. Crews rescued another hiker who ran into problems above treeline last week, the fifth such mission since mid-June. The other four hikers, who suffered injuries, hypothermia, or got lost on the peak, were all successfully rescued by Snohomish County officials.
