Double Amputee Climbs Manitou Incline

Colorado Springs's Mandy Horvath completed the grueling trail for Limb Loss Awareness Month.

“Bionic woman” Mandy Horvath of Colorado Springs, who lost both legs after being hit by a train, successfully climbed the Manitou Incline last month. It took her about four hours to complete the famously punishing ascent, which rises 2,000 feet in less than a mile. Horvath said she climbed for Limb Loss Awareness Month and that she hopes to earn a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
