The proposed Desert Discovery Center at the Gateway to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is envisioned to provide opportunities for residents and visitors to discover the story of the Upper Sonoran Desert.
Through exhibits and environmental experiences presented in a natural setting, the center will inspire learning about the desert through programs designed to encourage preservation and instill a sense of harmony with and respect for the desert environment in which we live.
Hear the consultants to the city of Scottsdale share the vision for the Scottsdale EDGE – the nature education/interpretive center the DDCS consultants say was planned in the 30,000+ acre McDowell Sonoran Preserve for decades!
Learn about the architecture and experience design – the exhibits and the addition of ASU’s Global Drylands Institute. According to the DDCS consultants it is all funded by two dedicated income streams plus millions committed from the private sector.
