After a hot hike on Scottsdale's McDowell Mountain Lost Dog Trail killed a pit bull this week, fire crews issued a citation for animal cruelty to its 27-year-old owner. Though Phoenix outlaws hiking with pets when temperatures reach 100 degrees, Scottsdale has no such regulations. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
