1. Enter "Charter Oak Rd and Pineville-Matthews Rd" into Google Maps. The McMullen Creek Greenway parking lot is about 200' away, on Pineville-Matthews Rd.
2. The hike is one way, so you have to either hike out and back, leave a car at the end of the hike at the parking lot on Rea Rd, or simply call an Uber from your smartphone when you're done. If you do the latter, give the driver the explanation above for where you're parked, because there unfortunately isn't any Google Maps name you can enter to find this parking lot. (If you enter "McMullen Creek Greenway parking lot" it will not take you here.)

Mile 0.0: At the far end of the parking lot, begin walking on the dirt trail. You will, from time to time, encounter side trails leaving the greenway and leading into the neighboring communities. Always ignore them and say on the main trail.
1.0: Reach the first of many boardwalks
2.9: At the fork, stay right.
3.8: Reach a small circular pier. Have a seat, listen to the birds chirp, and watch the tiny ripples in the surface of the still creek as insects jump around.
4.2: At the junction for 4MC Greenway, turn right over the bridge.
5.6: Conte under the bridge
5.95: Arrive at Rea Rd parking lot

1. Cross the street to grab a coffee or hot chocolate at Starbucks. Work up the nerve to ask that cute girl/guy for their phone number before leaving.
2. While waiting for your drink, watch the YouTube video "Dimitri the stud - reenacted by Eric Anderson part 1". Then when you're completely baffled, watch part 2.
