Northern Arizona’s Raymond Wildlife Area is set to welcome a herd of bison from South Dakota’s Wind Cave area. The Wind Cave animals come from a population with an undiluted genetic line–unlike Arizona’s bison, which have cattle genes. Arizona Game and Fish officials hope the new herd will improve the population’s sustainability.
