First Baby Fisher Confirmed in South Cascades

The newly reintroduced population of furry carnivores is reproducing in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Biologists in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest reported that they spotted a female fisher with a kit on a trail camera last week, confirming that the group of reintroduced mammals is beginning to reproduce. The mother fisher is one of 69 animals reintroduced to the area in February 2016.
