Patrollers Set Off Avalanche on Crowded Mammoth Mountain

The slide partially buried several lift employees, but no one was seriously injured.

Last weekend, ski patrollers conducting avalanche mitigation work at Mammoth Mountain set off an avalanche that reached a part of the mountain still open to the public and partially buried lift employees; no one was seriously hurt. The avalanche triggered search and rescue operations and closed down the resort.
