Gear Review: TSL Quickie Sled
Whether you want a lightning-fast descent (be careful!), an ultralight sledding solution, or a (relatively) dry butt glissade, the Quickie delivers. The hourglass-shaped plastic sled is just big enough to sit on, small and flat enough to stash against your pack frame, and weighs practically nothing.
Instructions are easy: Bend the flexible handle up between your legs to steer and use your feet to brake. Testers reported lots of laughs on a descent of the Brothers in the Adirondacks. One size fits most butts; best for semi-packed trails. $5; 5 oz.; tslsnowshoes.com
