Worried that white spirit bears might nab all the attention, ungulates decided to ramp up the PR machine: A pack of stunning white deer haunts the north woods of Wisconsin. Nobody knows exactly why the albino deer are so concentrated in this part of Wisconsin. The deer are protected from hunting, and naturalists speculate that they get to take advantage of exceptional camouflage for the six-month duration of a northern Wisconsin winter.
