The map of the day comes from Chicago designer Jerome Daksiewicz. PeakBagger: The Highest Points in the US speaks to the core of our pursuits, as we seek the high and wild places. Tagging the highest point in each state is just one example of those pursuits. Crossing off each Colorado 14er is another. There’s a lot going on in this graphic—all of it good. The color ramp points out the differences in the highest peaks, and from there he bar graphs the elevations and pie charts the classification of place names.
