Five inches of play in the torso (17 to 22 inches for the men’s L/XL) via an easy-to-use plastic clip and an adjustable hipbelt comfortably snugged this pack to one tester after another without having to change out parts. “As a person who has a larger-than-average girth, I loved the extra inches,” says one tester.
Thick padding in the shoulder straps, lumbar, and hipbelt pair with twin aluminum framestays to support loads up to 50 pounds. “I needed help lifting my loaded pack,” says one Pacific Crest Trail tester. “But it felt good on my back.”
A J-shaped zipper reveals all the pack’s innards at once.
