OUR TAKE There are plenty of children’s boots out there, but they’re usually chunky or not durable enough. That’s not the case with this offering from KEEN. A slim profile let one kiddo bound over redrock in Utah, and the boot can even pull double duty as a playground shoe. The leather-and-synthetic upper held up over a season of hiking.
THE DETAILS The non-marking rubber outsole gripped sandstone without issue. And the drawcord lacing system—with a hook-and-loop closure over the top— never came undone on the trail.
TRAIL CRED “Our little hikers jump in any puddle or stream they see, and the waterproof membrane on these boots keeps their feet dry,” one dad says.
